Server


This page will guide you briefly on how to make common Server or run services generally required to carry out lab testings.

Steps for Active Directory Installation

  • Install Windows Server 2012 R2 with GUI support.
  • Change the Hostname.
  • Assign Static IP address to this server.
  • Reboot
  • Install DNS Roles.
  • Reboot
  • Configure DNS
  • Install AD Roles.
  • Reboot.
  • In the Notification Flag you will find the option for DC Promotion.
  • Select this option and continue with DC installation.
  • Reboot the Server.
  • AD server is ready now.
  • Now you can install Certifying Authority(CA) if required.

LDAP Server

Misc

  • Clone Win VM
Shutdown VM that you want to clone, Right Click and select "FULL COPY"
Turn-on Cloned VM:
 - Generate a new SID on Windows : C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\sysprep.exe
 - Change IP address and Hostname of the VM
